I thoroughly enjoyed reading Amisano's latest book. "Finding Mississippi" is a total change from his first work, "An Imperfect Arrangement," which I also enjoyed. This book is light-hearted and I laughed out loud several times. The characters are fun and the story is dripping with magnolias, Spanish moss, and lots of Southern charm. I definitely recommend this book for a feel-good read!Product details

This story is told from two points of view, Paul and his grandmother Dorothy. I usually do not like this, but in this book it works. Paul and his partner Silvio live in South Beach Fla. They make good money and enjoy a very open gay life style. Dorothy Lives in small town Mississippi, where homophobia and racism are alive and well. Paul and Silvio travel south for Paul's grandfather ( Conrad) funeral. He hasn't been back since he came out to his family and his grandfather banished him. Now of all the characters in this family , I liked them all.. EXCEPT for Conrad. Too bad he is dead, that man was a real piece of work. I really loved the way the story meandered around and talked about the old south architecture, and the way things were DONE in the south. What I can't figured out is why all these beautiful, intelligent people allowed one old homophobic, lying, cheating doddering idiot tell them how to live their lives???? Well the world is better off without him! Enjoyable read.. A gift of kindle unlimited, love it!! 3550 locations! ENJOY!
